In that one Baja boat owners mind it is the badest boat he owns, let him have his moment. And when you say that a "majority" of them have never heard of another brand I think that is quite a stretch. I wish I could give you some sort of comparrison but I simply don't know anyone that owns a 280 Powerquest. |

Hard to quantify difference in ride. I've only been in a 280 a couple of times. I remember them riding decent but IMO there is a noticable difference in ride. I also prefer the handeling of the 29 OL.
Fuel won't be a huge difference. I have twin 496 mags in mine. I run with several friends that have boats with single 496 HO's. On long runs when we're all running the same speed I burn 30 - 50% more fuel than they do. It helps that I can cruise the same speeds at lower rpm. |

You guys are killing me! Josh is correct! Louisville (Ohio river), and surrounding lakes do carry a large amount of Baja guys, and where there's a baja, there's an attitude right there with it! As fare as letting him have his day? Go jump off a bridge! I have zero tolerance for pure attitudes! There's a difference in sarcastic bantering, yet don't take yourself so seriously because when you walk away from your baja, your still that annoying guy that no one really likes to be around! I have a buddy who is a great guy, yet get him around his 33 outlaw with 3 row seating and he feels like he's the biggest fish in the pond (no relation to Fish:helmet:). Yet I guess if your 7'2 you are one of the biggest fish.
Bottom line, I really don't care what you have, the sweetest boat, car, motorcycle, what ever....but if your an ass hat, it negates what you have. |

First ive heard. I bought mine from south carolina it had lil over 300 hrs on it and it was ran on the Atlantic for 6 years and it dosent have a single stress crack. my first boat was a VIP and it was stress cracked all to hell. I could tell it was a light boat that wasnt built as well thoe. If ya want a dealers opinion call admirals anchor in jeffersonville IN on the ohio river across from louisville. Thay were a PQ dealer and still a baja dealer. Ask for andy in service or the owner steve webb. Thay will tell you that PQ is a higher end boat. Thay were more $$$ new but thay had less cosmetic problems and less warrenty comebacks. Im not saying that baja isnt a nice boat. Thay are very much. But thay are not the best boat out there like some people believe. Thay however are great for the price.
P.S. That same local dealer that sold PQ also sold Baja...and was at the time the largest or second largest Rinker dealer in the nation! |

Our local dealer sold PQ for years so I am quite familiar with them. I almost bought the 270 I referenced but when my buddy traded it for a 2000 32 Dominator he left it with the dealer at LOTO and they weren't kind to the boat in the 6 months they had it. By the time it came back to the sister dealership in IL it was trashed. The 270 was just too small a boat for the weekend LOTO slop but would have been perfect on our local lake.
