need advice on 280
 

hello everyone i am going to look at my first performance boat on saturday(2003 powerquest 280 silencer 496 ho with 311 hours)boat all stock with cockpit cover and trailer.my question is if the boat is extreamely clean and in excellent condition what would you offer for a bottom line starting price and whats the max you would pay? thanks everyone and hope this is the last boat i have to ask advice on buying.

it all depends if you really want to buy it or not,,,If you like the boat offer $29.5-$30k and work out a deal from there...or you could listen to others and offer him 20k and see where it goes,,

I would not offer less than 25,000 and would not pay more than 29,000,, thats just me,, I actually prefer the boat with the 502 mag over the 496... if the boat was in great shape
getting it in the range of 25-29 would probably be a good deal.. I would also make him aware that you are looking at other lower priced powerquests. in justifying your lower offer

most people selling their boats, usually know where their competing sales are

good luck..... and make sure it was not a salt boat... although it is a closed system... no salty boats for me

I looked at the one with the 502 last summer.. nice boat but not nice enough for me(I'm picky) and he was stuck on 29k

yea. he sent me some pictures,, the hull sides were a little banged up, in the graphics,, looks like he tried to fix it, but it doesnt look too good,,,

would have offered 25 max

Just got done looking at the boat.its in new condition.guy is insane about cleaning and up keep.kinda bummed though he's not moving much on the price.he's at 34,000 firm
