And I don't plan on doing anything my self. I have an engine builder that does some mild marine and wild street stuff. He's asking me questions like what kind of can do I want? And if i am wanting to run more boost? What kind of compression would I like to have? So I need to talk to someone with a similar engine for a direction.

Not to sound bad ,but Pwraddr hit the nail on the head . I had engine builder that builds my drag motor here want to do mine but when he had a lot of ?ss about marine motor I knew it was bad . I would give Eddie a call , I bet for not much more he's going to give you a motor tuned on dyno ready to roll . And you know it's done right .

I was hesitant to throw the name out at first because I don't have any personal experience, or even acquaintance experience with Eddie Young, but I've heard NOTHING but good about him. Marine engines are different.

Josh I thought I knew enough about motors so I went out and bought all the parts my self to save money and have a motor guy put it together for me and that was a bad idea.
I over paid for parts that he could get cheaper and new exactly what parts worked good together and everything. For my Powerquest next fall I'm just going to give him both my motors give him a budget and he's going to take it from there. Tell him budget and a rough hp and they let u know if it's do able and then I'll have ur self and Awsome motor for sure. |
OK. I'm not building a 1000 HP stroker motor. Its a simple top end fresh up and I assumed I might as well step up the cam a little for some better sound and a lil more power and up the boost a pound or two if I can without melting it down. For all I care Id be happy with a stock 500hp/525hp cam and stock pistons and keep the 5lb pulley. But thanks for all the great advice everyone. I know exactly what I'm going to do now.

Just go to Eddie, Young Performance. Don't screw around with someone who doesn't know performance marinr motors.

You may try Bill @ Schumaker Performance in Greenwood, IN. He is a Hi-Perf marine specialist and does lots of stuff mild to wild. Not too far away and he knows what he is doing.
