I wasn't a new "design" it was the construction process (infusion), with some liners, and air inlets, stainless windshield (cosmetic) . the running surface was not touched. The 38's need more air for the engines. There have been many 38's with damaged hatches from people lifting the hatch while running them. They did pick up some mph.

Boat should have been sent to the chipper. 2012... :Whatever:

Why send it to the chipper, just finish it as it should have been and not half-assed.

If this guys bought both hulls I sure as hell hope his second attempt is much better.

It is a 10 year old used boat. It will take 2014 dollars and prices to complete a 2005 boat. You would be obscenely upside down in it to finish it as it should have been unless you get the hull for peanuts. I'd put that same money towards a used 38 TG TS all day. You would have to really, really be in love with 380 PQ's to take this project on.

Regardless of today's dollars, yesterday's dollars and potential dollars, if someone has a good donor boat with a dead hull there would be value if obtained cheap enough and if that person was mechanically inclined and could do the work themselves and they were ok with the potential marriage.
Having said that would I risk buying it and having to "invest" 100-150k, he'll no, I'd be buying something else already completed.

Fiberglass is Fiberglass... It's not like a car. Buy it and drop your power and drives in it. Not going to be a show boat by any means but no reason to chip it. Needs a nicer sunpad and rear seat but used would be the way to go here.

The chipper comment only pertains to the boat if it is sold as a 2012 I have no problem with the boat existing as a 2005 or whatever model year it was actually produced in.

Big project for sure.
