Labbed 30's?

"truck stop or feed store"
Only in your neck of the woods
I will be flying through your town and might even have a stay over tomorrow night.
Starting September first I will have that store for 100% of their service.
Not to take anything away from York (I am sure they do great work) I had Throttle Up do two sets of mine and am pleased with the results. Part of what makes them unique is that they will M.R.I. your props so that if you need them replaced you can have a exact duplicate. They can also use this as a tool to give you a perfect blade match.

I second that about Throttle Up. I have used York and Throttle Up. They both do nice work, but T-Up (Julie and Matt) are so nice to deal with (no SOCAL attitude) and actually have and utilize their web site and email. And most importantly, they stand behind their work.

Thanks for the advice. I talked to 3 or 4 shops this week and Throttle Up was definitely helpful. Actually all the shops where very nice. Julie is sending me a Bravo I 22p and Mirage Plus 21p to experiment with. I suspect a labbed M+ will give me the results I am looking for. Have a great summer boating.

UPDATE!
Matt, from Throttle-up, advised me to try my stock 28's again to get a baseline. I haven't had them on for a year 1/2. dusted them off and ran them today. hit a wall @ 4900/77 mph. but, I forgot how much cruise speed I'd lost with the labs. 39 mph @ 3000. that almost 4 mph, and no blow-outs while coming on plane. The labs would fall off @ anything under 3000, today 2700, no problem. All around the stockers were superior!!, now guys, according to my calc's, 30P's @ 4900 = 83.5 mph/10% slip. I know you can rake 30's back to 28 1/4P, but???
MACKLIN, make sure matt has a complete file on your props for me
Whats the rule-of-thumb for pitch changes on twins 3-400rpm? If thats the case, sounds like I'm better off continuing to tweak the 28's.

Will do. I am sending them to T-Up next week for tweaking. Heck, after sucking up an anchor line/chain and mucking up my starboard prop (most of the damage went into the outdrive) I am still able to hit 77 with half a bag of gas and 2 people. I am confident that Matt can get me to 80.
You are right about the cruise efficiency of the stock 28's. That is why Bill put his stock 28's back on for all the long cruising we have been doing. The real test will be to see if Matt can put enough cup into my labbed 28's to get some of that back without sacrificing top end. I will not know until I get back from Italy on the 19th. Hope to water test on the 20th.
I think you will see about the same rpms with labbed 30's as you see with your stock 28's. Bill's 30's have the same loss of cruise speed as my labbed 28's however.
