Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Gents, I think this thread is having the reverse effect. Instead of helping get through the cold months I am really ready to get out now!!!!!!!
Sweet pics all across the board... And Dave, that is a stunning paint scheme... -Wally |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Thanks Wally. I was given a certificate from the factory that says there are only 3 Revenge's painted like this. I talked to a factory rep (thanks, Rick!) and he told me that there is a blue, red and my purple version of this boat.
Come on summer! :D Dave |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Scott I must say that is a good looking boat. :D I must also ask what year, what power and what speeds do you see? Just wondering.
Dave that is a awsome paint job. Dave do you boat LOTO I think I saw one down there last year. Thanks everyone for doing this it makes it kind of nice to put a boat with a name. All the boats look great. I am with Wally can we go boating it is suppose to be a high of 16 on Sunday sounds good to me, right  |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Did anyone go to the PQ rally, and if so how was it and does anyone have photos?

PWRQWST,
98 with 500hp carbs no bottom mods ran mid 70's did 80 1 time when the conditions were perfect. Bottom mods completed and around 50 + hp on each engine took it to 80mph when ever I want and 84 on a perfect day. |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
HP,
Do you own the "Blue Disney" boat? It is good looking. Do you know what motors she has? PWRQWST, We bought the boat from Port Arrowhead at LOTO. We test drove it late September and early October. It belonged to a guy from STL. Not sure if he boated in LOTO or not, however, it was sold buy Raymonds in July of '04. We plan on making the next Harbor Hop.......if I get some more experience with twins and longer boat in before then! Dave |

They kept it kinda secret and I beleive that was the one that was first out and was a show boat. All three of those special painted boats we sold before built. I beleive yours came from Raymonds. The blue one had 496's as well. Jeff |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Scott. I think I should look into having the bottom worked, that will probably be the most helpful. Do you plan on going to the PQ rally this coming year or down to the shootout?
If there is no other PQ running in the shootout you should run (you are faster then me) so why not, no other PQ has ran in the past 4 years that I know of. |

Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Nice ride PWRQUEST, I am planning on a late summer river trip putting in at East Peoria. We'll have to hook up on the river. Last season I was on PWRQWST's 38 and we ran up to Henry I believe. Ran into another 29 PQ up there, I believe it was a 2001 or 2002 with 6.2's in it. He was a big guy, real nice, we tied up with him for a few hours. Had kind of a yellow/orange/purple flag graphic. Nice boat.......
|
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Just realized your out of McHenry and not Henry  ...... So I'll see at the shootout unless you make a trip to Lake Clinton .
|
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
cbgenrl,
THANKS :D I would like to get down that way, I want to start trying different places. We want to do the spring harbor hop in loto on may 1-2, and would also like to do the PQ rally (have you done the rally). When you start thinking of the trips you want to take your summer is gone before you know it. |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
In powerboat magazine I seen a 38PQ Poker Run Edition, it was a computer drawing but it had quad bolsters in it. All the 2005 that I have seen none of them have quad bolsters. So I don't know if they scratched the idea.
You Big Dogs that own the 38 PQ, do you think there is the room for that option? I know baja does it on the 33 and 36 outlaw, and I think formula does it to, but I'm sure there is a lot of other brands that do it also. |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
I am considering the PQ rally, depends on timing??
I have seen the poker run addition with the quad bolsters. I assumed that was a limited edition because the 38's that I have been in or have seen did not have the room for a second row of bolsters like the big Baja outlaws do. Don't get me wrong, the standard 38 PQ is roomy, but not as much space btwn the bolsters and rear seat of a 33 outlaw.... which happens to be one of the reasons I considered baja, tons of cockpit room (where you spend most of your time)..... But who am I to comment, I have 9 foot envy. -Wally |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
PWRQUEST: I believe that the 4 bolster set up was a concept that would have shrunk the cuddy or at least the dash area. The dash is huge on the 38 so that could be part of it. I also heard at one time that PQ was thinking about building a 42' boat :D and if so they could leave the cuddy alone and put 2' in the cockpit and 2' in the engine comp. maybe even stagger the motors a little. :evilb: Mr.Powerquest monitors this site, so if you read this Mandi let us know. (Mandi works for PQ).
I also have seen you posting on Speedwake.com but I am unable to reply so far. But avoid Riverview Marine, Bill does not tell you the whole truth. When I can post I will put a message on the bad buisness area. :argue: Wally Wally Wally. 9' envy you just bought the 29'. In my opinion you made the correct choice by buying a PQ. Scott looked hard at BAJA also but ended up with Sunsation. Baja has a big cockpit but that size makes other areas smaller. PWRQUEST when is your local run what you brung event? |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
PWRQWST,
Sorry I worded it wrong. When I was talking about getting all the PQ's together down in LOTO for the shootout and I said "run what you brung" I meant it doesn't matter what you drive we're all into the same thing. I don't know if you ever heard of blarney's Island on the chain of lakes,(in grass lake), they have boat races every thursday night from memorial day to labor day. No one under 21 is allowed, and it is a good time :drink: :drink: . It is only accessible by water. There is a live band every thursday night.and no cover charge.I have a slip that me and my friend rent for thursday nights. So that means you guys can take a couple of days off work and come up to our world and party :drink: :drink: |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Scott, Tell me more about the bottom mods you had done. I have a 99 34 Viper with the carb HP500'S Everything is stock and straight with labbed bravo 1 30" props hitting 5200 RPM but I can't get more than 77 on a good day. Should be getting 80+
Relative to a PQ get together is anyone planning on going to the Oshkosh Thunder Poker Run in June. I have done it the last 3 years, great fun!! |

Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
PWRQWST,
What's your problem with Riverview? |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
southbound35: Well when Riverview was owned by Tim it was a great dealership I had had no problems, I thought Tim was a good business man and he took care of his customers, but unfortunatly he is not around anymore. My problem is will Billy boy last March I took my 29 up for some warranty work that they could do and this was right before there open house. I showed Bill what needed to be done and he said no problem. I also asked him to try to sell my boat while it was there since they were having there open house is a week and I signed a consignment sheet. I also asked that my boat will be left inside the storage shed since my cover leaked and just to show it if anyone was looking for that kind of ride. I called every week to find out how my boat was coming along and they told me every week that it was just fine. Finaaly after 4 weeks I told them I would be up next week to pick it up so I could use it, again no problem. On the fifth week I left my house to drive up there I called when I was going around Bloomington so they could pull ot out and have it ready when I called up there the new service mngr said I dont think we have started on it yet, I replied well I'm on my way up so I hope it is done. When I arrived at the dealership my boat was in the used boat row, ok until I got up to look at it. The cover was half off and there were numerous Shoe prints and bird crap, and leaves all over my engine hatch, rear seat, carpet, and the noise of the boat. This is bad enough, but also my cuddy was unlocked and wide open, this sucked because I store alot of my boating items in there over the winter. There were alot of my items moved around and my portable GPS was missing I found out later. My boat had not been worked on, absolutly no warrenty work was done. All that had happened was my boat sat outside in the weather while half covered up getting leaves, rain, bird crap, and people thought it that I did not autherize. I nicly asked one of the service guys to move the boat in front of mine so I could get mine and leave. He did that plus pulled mine out so it was easier to get. While I was hooking up Tim's daughter came out and asked what the problem was and I told her the same story, she stated that Bill did not own the business (he lead me to believe) and she would talk to the owner and have him call me the first of next week. I AM STILL WAITING ON THAT CALL. So I will proudly tell every person I know about have sh*tty the service was and that they should avoid them at all cost. Hey Holland Mi. is not that far away for work. Sorry for the long reply but you asked.

Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
performancemary,
We will be doing that run for the 1st time :D |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
Pwrqwst,
Sorry to hear about your Riverview marine problems. I am slightly embarrassed because I like to refer them as a good dealer. I have had my boat winterized at riverview twice since Tim has been gone. (I bought mine from Tim when Bill was the service man.) This last time there was a new service guy. I asked them to also fix my cabin latch. They did and I assume the boat was winterized properly this past time. I have spoke to the owner once. Young guy as I recall. It doesn't surprise me that he didn't call you back. When I talked to him, I didn't get that feeling of Honesty. Just a story about Tim and Riverview...When I picked up my new boat, I had to run back to work so the girlfriend was going to back it in the yard.....She couldn't override the trailer brakes. She called Tim at home, he came over and helped her, showed her how to bypass the brake, and of course backed it in the yard. The next day I was out, trying to figure out the problem....and Tim shows up with his nephew. They helped me, determine my problem (needed a fuse) I am still going to go to Riverview but with more caution now and I will be taking a copy of your post to discuss with Bill or the service guy so I don't have an experience like yours. The unfortunate part is that if we would have talked earlier or I knew you (or anyone else) had a boat at riverview, I could of gone and checked on it for you. |
Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
southbound35: Thanks I wish I would have know someone up there, that would have been helpful. I understand that you live up there and that they are in your back yard so I also understand you might have a relationship with them. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. I met a different couple last year on the river and they also get along with Billy boy, but they could understand why I was upset also. Oh well the good thing is that we own a great boat and that we can still get together and have a beer. :drink: :drink:
Keep in touch and have a SAVE and HAPY NEW YEAR. :D :drink: :drink: :D |

Re: It's time to see your PowerQuest
performancemary,
Very nice looking boat A friend of mine has a 500HP in his warlock, and after 270 hrs he had to get it gone through. A couple of people I've talked to have had the same problem he had. (I believe the motor ate a valve spring) How many hours are on yours? Have you heard of that problem? Also a guy I know has a 38 formula with twin 500 efi's a 2002, he told me he hasn't had that problem and he is well over 300hrs. |
