I can make it in 4.5 to 5 hours pulling down and I believe I am only about 2.0 to 2.5 hours south but you would be interstate all the way.
As for the Ozarks depending at what mile marker you want to stay at here we go
1.Lakeview Resorts #573-374-5555 that is at mile 10, stayed there it's nice
2.Parkview is very nice MP lives there #573-302-1217 at M.M. 19 great place and location
3.BTL'S condo #888-353-3750 locations all over
4.Baypoint Village#877-79-5star M.M. 8, 5star has other locations
5.Eagles nest #877-452-5338 M.M. ?
6. PMG is another rental company that is good to deal with I do not have there #
Get on Lake of the Ozarks web site that might help also. Good luck. Rich

PWRQST is right about Shooter's. The place could (and should!) be a gold mine. On Friday and Saturday night during Shootout weekend it'll be packed. However, as we were heading home Sunday night from the Salty Dog (sometime between 8:00 and 9:00 if I remember right) and the place was dark!!! Otherwise it's fairly dead. Also if I recall correctly they updated their docks/slips, but did not put in any cleats.

We will probably get there Th nite and stay until Monday. Or if that is the first the new boat gets down there, I will probably be there a week to 10 days breaking it in.

Can't wait to see your 43 F4, big fan of the 32 Dominator.

If you decide to stay at Parkivew Bay you can call Kim Ruffino at 314-650-1087. Mention my name, John Tillery from unit 626 referred you, and tell her I mentioned a 10% discount. She gave the discount last year, not sure what she plans to do this year but it will not hurt to try.

Both have Days Inns that are fairly cheap.

Also, if you decide to go to Parkview Bay DO NOT mention the name Rich (PWRQWST). Your cleaning and damage deposit instantly doubles
Did you guys see the write up about OSO in Powerboat this month??

Everybody is right about Shooters 21. The place has one of the best locations on the lake, but it seems like everybody avoids going there. I know it changed hands last year, and I hope the new owners can get the reputation back that it once had. It it too nice of a place to let go down the toilet. After the 2003 Shootout their were letters written to Powerboat magazine about the condition of the place and the docks. I mean who would take their half a million dollar raceboat, and try to squeeze it into a narrow slip with exposed screws and angle iron everywhere? The new owners have done a wonderful job remodeling the interior and replacing the docks. Their is a lot of potetial there!
