I have the 27 with a single HP 500 and B & M 250 blower. I think that the single is cheaper to run and maintain and I don't think you will loose much speed with the single. When I first bought mine I thought it was alittle unstable on top end but I had I had never driven a boat at 75 plus mph. After one season I found the problem was not the boat it was the driver ! Just needed more experience. I would go with the single.

I have a 29 single and have hit a brick wall at 85 have seen 86 in rough water but a solid 85 800 hp running a left hand 28 pitch that has been lengthened a little bit ,runs solid as a rock .pull the tabs off ! and try it i got 4 mph
