Default For All You Prop Gurue's

Looking for some feedback on the Mercury Maximus 5 blade Propeller. I have been on the phone with the Mercury Tech guys and yes I know this is going to be a definate trial by error on my Apache.
I know these props were originally designed for ventilatated bottoms (stepped) and Cat's and also high X demesion drive set-ups.
My X demesions are relatively high on my 36' Apache and we figure that these propellers might work exteremely well overall with minimum loss of top speed if any.
My main question is are any of you guys running the 5 blade Maximus props on a non stepped V-Bottom with any success??????
I will be testing several combination of props in Florida late next week and would like some feedback before I leave.
I am presently running 30 lab finished Bravo one's.
Thanks-----LT

It is quite possible that the Maximus will work better on your boat if you have an extremely high X Dimension. This is due to the increased diameter of the Maximus. However we have found that you may still have a high % of slip for a 5b which should be around 9%-10%. After testing post some of your numbers and we can run your slip. I have found that some boats will perform better with the larger diameter but still have a very high slip %, so in esscense you are still leaving speed on the table when compared to adding a spacer to get the slip numbers at the appropriate %. I look forward to seeing your numbers!

LT,

What's up?! You know I know your boat. We have worked together for years. I saw the Bravo 1's at Mel's place. You should send them in. They need a little help.

We have learned what the 4BL's do on your rig. We know we have to do specialty work with them to get that rig to carry. The 5BL is going to give you alot more stern lift. They will be a delite getting on plane and cruising across the big pond. But, Post 1/2 throtle your boat will have "glued to the water" issues. It's all in what your looking for. I know your more of a cruising guy.

When you get back from Florida, we could try some things. I'd like to get my hands on those 28's if you still have them.

Did you get the motor issue taken care of?

Say hi to your lovely bride.

Brett
