I have an '04 42EX Fountain with 525 efi's. It came with 32P Bravo I's. I had an opportunity to get from Mercury labbed 32P (same props but labbed). Since putting them on it seems harder to get on plane, could they make that much of a difference. I know I am not giving any specs, but both seem to run @ 5200 rpm @ WOT. Is there a better prop for me to run? I don't want to labor the drives coming out of the hole, but do want to plane easier, mayber 5 blade? Any respone would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, The Hydromotive P5-X is a great prop on the 42'. These propellers will have much better planning capabilities, cruise speeds and acceleration. Feel free to call me any time.

Theoretically the 5BL props will help you get on plane faster. They will also improve your mid range cruise speeds. The pitch will have to be adjusted to get your proper WOT rpm.
Any 5BL propeller, whether you chose the P5X or the Mercury Maximus will change the feel and attitude of the boat thoughout the rpm band.
