Mirage Plus vs. Laser II

Okay, besides the obvious larger diameter of the M+, what are the differneces between these props. They are both advertised as high performance bow lifting props. I am assuming that the M+ is designed for larger boats that need more blade area. But what about a smaller performane boat?
My boat is 19' long, 7' beam, 24* deadrise, about 3200 lbs and has 320 pshp @4800-5000 rpm and has a deep propshaft. Which prop would work better on my boat?
This stuff is starting to drive me nuts!

Laser 2 will have better top end.
Mirage Plus will most likely have better cruise speeds.

I'm not sure that you will need more than a 25 pitch and the Laser 2 comes in that pitch. If a Mirage plus in a 23 works, the 25 Laser 2 may be to big. I ran the numbers with what you posted and the Laser 2, 25P looks good. hmmmm
Another prop we love to run on similar set ups is the Tempest. Very fast and carries the load great.

I was thinking the same thing. I think a 23 M+ is too small and a 25 is too big. A 25 L2 may be the answer.
I am going to try a 25 M+ this weekend. I know it may be a little to big but IF I can get the slip under 10% and pull 4800 rpm, I'll go with the 25 and get it worked a little to get me 5000. A 25 @ 4800 has the same theoretical speed as a 23 @ 5200. If I can't pull it I'll try a 23 M+ and a 25 L2. If I've learned anything over the last few weeks, it's you don't know until you try it on YOUR boat!

Last season I switched from a 21" Mirage (not a Plus type) to a 21" Laser II.
Besides the outer diameter being a bit smaller, the blade rake is a lot steeper and blade area is less on the Laser II.
The first thing I noticed was that it carries the bow higher and trimmed for WOT the a$$ end felt light and loose too. The amount of trim needed was less also. The ex drove it the same day and noticed the difference.
No real difference in top end as far as I could tell.

noboat.
We just sent a 25P Laser 2 out to a customer in LA. It has a special Lab Template done to it. I built it for my own old 17' river racer Checkmate with a hopped up 2.5 on it. I sold the boat a couple years ago and kept the prop on the shelf. The customer is going to try it and buy it if he likes it. If he doesn't and it comes back, your are welcome to give it a try.
It hauls the bacon!
