Default Hittin the limiters Need prop help

05 35 Fountain EX. 496 ho's 1.65 bravo X,32 Bravo
props. Slow on plane, decent acceleration, long
time to get to 78 mph, bangin the limiters @ 5200.
Any suggestions? the 32 bravo just doesnt seem
optimal,but a 34 may be to much,would 5 blade
maximus kill my top end?Maybe a labbed 34 bravo?

i have a 05 35 ex with same power and ratio as you. my boat had same sluggish plane and acceleration. it would hit the limiters with 4 people and full gas way too easy also. i switched too 15 1/4 x 32 5 blade maximus. much better holeshot and midrange. picked up 5-7 at 4000. still 78 top end at 5000. hope this helps.

Are the 32P Bravo I props stock? If so you may want to look at the 5B props. The 496 HOis does not boast a lot of torque. So we sometimes do not see the benefits described by shack35fountain. But if you have a very high drive height you may, as the Maximus has a very large diameter which helps to compensate for the high drive height. I have calculated your slip at 16% which is a tad high. If your 32P Bravo I props are lab finished the a cup adjustment may help. If not then I would say try a 5B.

We have Maximus 30's and 32's to test with if you decide to try them. In box stock configuration, the 30's should be a good starting point. We could also work with the 32 B1's you have to pull you off the limiter.

My drives are at 19 inches. High for sure. With the 4 blade wheels i had to really feather the sticks getting on plane to keep them from blowing out. The 5 blades bite much better getting up. Last summer i knicked one of the 5 blades and put the 4s back on for the weekend while getting the 5 repaired. My wife knows very little about the boat and when we left the house she said the boat doesnt seem like its running right. She didnt know i had switched them. I was kinda impressed with her noticing.

Thanks for all the info. Its just what I was looking for.
Shacks35... do you find with the maximus that you
can get to top end faster. I dont run wot much, but
when I do it seems like it take forever to get there.
Also,are your props labbed?

Going from cruise to WOT is better but were i am most impressed is with the speed increase at the 3500-4000 range. The fuel savings are noticable. My props are labbed.
