Are there differnt hubs for XR's?
#1
I am trying out a set of Props that came with hub kits.
The hub would only go on my XR propshaft about 7/8 of the way and then stop with a clunk. This left the prop shaft threads just slightly exposed - but obviously was going on right.
I thought the splines wern't aligned, but the hub still wouldn't go all the way on.
The hub kit is in a Merc box and the part #840389K06 for H.D. 1 1/4" prop shaft.
I took the hubs out of my other props so I could run the new props. Except for all the grease, they looked the same.
So, are there different hub inserts for XR drives? My XR's are of 2003 MY.

I just had that with my fatshaft 300x's. Drove me crazy. I just turned prop a few splines overand eventually the prop just slipped on. The shaft is thicker at the back and is thinner at the prop nut. I think it will work for you too. Don't force it, just keep turning it.
