Where would you prop this motor at?

Rob,see how easy it hits 6000 with the 30's,if it hits it real easy get a pair of 32's and work on them till it its perfect,if you have to trim it and hold it quite a while to hit 6000 with your 30's you'll be disappointed with steeper props. My boat pulls my 30 labbed real nice to just shy of 6000 when loaded hard, hits 6000 when loaded light which is the only time it can pull my 32 labbed and even then its a struggle to see 5800 with the 32. Your in the same territory, you just have to try it,Smitty
I can hit 5800 real easy and bust 100mph just about anytime. It depends on the water. Most of my water here is real Flat .If theres a little chop it goes to 6000 with a little work..The best so far is 101.4 -102. on the stock bravo one 4bl 30p prop and stock bravo one foot.
Ones I get it running with the new foots I can get a base line.the Ill lab them or get some 32's and lab them.
What is the RPM difference between a set of 30 over 32's.2 prop sizes ??????
Thanks for all the input
Rob

The rpm difference IF your peak power stayed real constant would be 400 rpm's but what I have seen on blown boats like yours and mine is sometimes the taller prop drops the rpm's which in turn drops the boost slightly which in turn drops the rpm's even more or the opposite happens, your already revving past the power band (under propped) then you may actually spin the taller prop almost the same rpm at a much higher speed (we could only be so lucky). Like I said in a earler post,my boat really likes my 30 labbed,I have a 32 unlabbed, every time I make more power I try it and it just stifles my boat. I also have a labbed 32,if I'm loaded down heavy and put it on boat runs a few mph slower and revs 600 rpm's less (5400),if boat is loaded medium,it runs the same speed (around 89.5-90) at 5600,if I run light I see 5800 and just shy of 93 mph,the boat is real sensitive to it. The 30 works well under all conditions in my case, the 32 is real finicky and the 32 that isn't labbed sits on a shelf,I think I need another 150 hp to turn the damn thing. After I dyno the motor this time if I'm making a little more power I'm going to get oit turned into a 31 labbed and maybe it will be a good all around prop,Smitty

Yup. If the 30's are at 6000, expect the 32 Lab's to be in the 5900ish range. Of course that is our standard recipe (I like best recipe). I can't speak for ever one else.
Lab Finishing was developed by Mercury Racing. Since I was there through the Bravo 1 process we have developed BBLADES recipe from we know works. Everyone else has done things differently over the years. Some real bad and some good. If you stay at it long enough you discover what works on certain boats and what doesn't.
