Revolution 4 vs Bravo 1
I tried a Bravo 1 on my boat(Pantera 24) last year and although I loved the cruise at high speeds it threw the boat around and needed A LOT of trim.
After contemplating getting it tweaked I decided that I didn't want to take the chance and the Bravo probably wasn't right for my boat. I've been reading about the Revolution 4 and wondering if this prop may work better. Smaller diameter may not "muscle" the boat around as much and more rake than the Bravo may give it better bow lift with less trim. I know the answer is always you don't know until you try but there aren't alot of used Revs out there. Just looking for some comparisons to the Bravo. BTW I am running a Mirage 25 at 5200 rpm and 75-76 mph. But the cruise SUCKS! |
We can loan you a 25 Rev 4 if you like.
$20 plus shipping. |

$20 plus shipping. Brett, I would be interested in that! How does it work? Should I just call you tomorrow? |
Yes, give us a call.

Brett,
Any chance you have two Rev 4's as part of your loaner program? My situation is much like onesickpantera. I have a 28 Active Thunder (single 500hp efi/Bravo I w/1.50) running a stock 24 pitch Bravo I. At lower rpm's/speeds and little trim (4 or 5 on my bluewater indicator) the steering wants to take a hard left. At higher rpm's, I have the trim the boat out to 8 or 9 for max speed (68mph) and max rpm (5000-5100). As you can see, my slip isn't bad (10-11%), however I could use some more rpm's. And of course more speed is always a good thing. What's your thoughts? Is it worth trying a Rev 4? |
We paid the $20 shipping for a loan set of Rev 4's and fell in love with these props! After a few days we sent them back and bought a pair. Our boat has never responded so well.

The Rev 4s still only available up to 25p? With the "almost" straight trailing edge they look like they fit somewhere between a B1/Q-IV-X and a Q-IV.
I'd love to hear from the pros a "technical" (but simple) comparison between these four props... B1 vs Q-IV-X Rev4 vs Q-IV |

I was told the Rev4 has more rake than a B1 so they lift the bow better than a B1.
A stock B1 does require a lot of trim on our boats. BBlades modified my B1 so that I did not have to trim as high. Since the mods, I have yet to find a 4 blade that will push my boat faster than a B1. I wish Merc made a 27p Rev 4. |
Will definitely post results. Suppose to be a nice weekend! :D
I found my Turbo 3-blade that revved a little higher than my Mirage that I plan on testing as well. |
