cleaver props for alpha - where to start looking?

Who sells decent stainless cleaver props for alpha drives now?

Quicksilver which is now Mercury used to make them. Not sure if they still do? We ran a cleaver with an Alpha on a 22Pachanga years ago. I've seen them on ebay.

Last I knew my marina had a bunch of the older style cleavers for the alpha. They had a standard type hub with cleaver style blades, I remember them being 3 blade only. What pitch are you looking for? One? Rotation? Or a pair?

This place is a Sea Ray dealer and these were the norm on the Pachanga's back then, ran a pair on my 88 32 Pachanga.

Thanks RaggedEdge.

Currently have a pair of Quicksilver 48 89804 A5 23
23 Pitch - 15" diameter - 2 righthand

One outdrive needs work (oil leaking out weap hole, not terrible, but some metal filings on magnet, milky oil run by previous owner for part of last season), and I'm thinking of taking the opportunity to put a counter rotation drive on.

Boat is thru-hub exhaust.

But these cleavers really give it a nice quick easy plane which I like and I don't need or want any more bow lift. My last Nova had a pair of mirage (original) props on it and had a higher top end, but it labored to get up on plane, and these cleavers seem to handle really well for me.

So I'm looking for the counter rotation prop if there is an exact match, or else a very similar par but counter rotating (but ideal would be a matched LH since then I'll already have two RH props!)

Same props! Had my 32 Pachanga changed over to counter rotation as part of the deal when I bought it. Always had the same experience with those props, worked well. Next time I'm up there I could check to see if there are any left.

I have the 21p cleavers called merc they told me they didnt make a left hand to match mine,so i had to buy new props. So call merc and see if they made one to match yours before you beat your brains out looking for one.just my 2 cents

Thanks Mike -- ha, didn't think of starting directly at the source. Will do Monday.

So what did you do -- did you get a different set of cleavers, and if so, what did you get?

I went with mirage plus cupped and labbed from bblade, gained all around in performance.I did go counter rotating with my boat.

Thanks again Mike.

I suppose there is a reason why I'm not finding new cleavers of this style on the market now (better performance from newer prop designs) but I sure liked the look of the cleavers...
