Powertech OFX Propellor
#1
Powertech OFX propeller is being marketed as a prop to try for increased top end by providing more bow lift if you can not currently make your boat porpoise at max trim out with your current prop.
What has been anyones experience with a Powertech OFX propeller?

I see where BBlades and Throttle Up do or did carry the Powertech prop line. Their insight/experience as to the merits of a OFX4 versus a Bravo 1 prop on a light 25' 3700 lb dry wt hull (Nordic Rage) with 600hp +/- and Bravo X 1.5 : 1 drive would be very much appreciated.

I do not carry the Powertech line although they have tried to recruit us as dealers. I have worked on these propellers on a small basis. At the risk of sounding Bias, we have still found the Bravo 1 to out perform the PT. I have even Lab Finished these props. The results were minor increases in acceleration and decreases in slip. The slip decrease pulled the R's down and the speed stayed the same.

I've run the PowerTech OFX on several heavy old V- bottoms. In testing back to back (same pitch) with the Merc Bravo One, I've found the PowerTech to be up to 2.5 mph faster on top end over the Merc. The Merc did out perform the PT at mid range cruise.
All told, I've been extremely impressed with PowerTech propellers. I feel they are about the most efficient box stock prop on the market today. They are very reasonably priced and more often than not, out perform props two to three times the price.
I had just ordered a set of 28 PT's, hope to get them tomorrow. I'll post the results.

I have a PT 23p Right that is perfect. Don't need it. Have you considered Hydromotive? They offer bow lifting props also, They end with "X" very hard to find used. I am assuming you want a bow-lifter??
Ive tried a half dozen props and came back to a Mirage Plus.
