Formula 292 SR1 Props?

I was hoping for a bit more, but I need to have the props trimmed. Hydromotive said the props should be cut down to 14.75", this will put be into my optimal RPM range and give me an additional 2 MPH.
As for steering- right now I'm running stock steering, at 70 MPH the steering feels really numb and I don't like it at all. I may add hydraulic next spring, it is certainly on my to do list now.
If your getting 4800 RPM's out of the bravo's don't lab them. 4600-4700 is all you really want to spin a 330. Either way 63 was my best with 330's. To get more speed you should try a set of Mirage props, that might give you a bit more speed but you'll lose mid-range speed.

I only tried the mirages (not plus)...haven't tried the Bravo 1's...we shall see... I think he advanced he timing a bit for what he claims he was getting on gps. Does yours have the hydraulic teleflex in the helm?

If there is one thing I've learned its don't believe what people post on boat speed. One member claimed he was getting 72 MPH with a 311, 454 Mags and Hydromotive props. There is simply no way thats a real number I can't hit that number and I have close to 450 HP per engine. 63 is a good number for your hull and engines. There are some performance sheets on our boat in the owner section. I'll bump it to the top and you can compare.

I also have a Baja, a 26 footer...I gained 9mph ( well with the help of BBLADES/Brett) after playing with the props (used a rev 4 for best top speed actallly -the mirages always cavitated too much) and advanced the timing to 10 at idle.
But your correct, 63 is fine for now...I also forget im in the Hudson river, Sunday tides must have been moving at least 5 mph while I tested...
Thanks, illl look at the specs. I'm one of those never be happy campers since I compare hitting 85 with my old Fountain...Sometimes I like working on the dam thing than enjoying it.

endeavour32,
I'm glad you tried turning them in. That would be my suggestion. Some people believe the boat bow gets too loose but the speed almost always goes up. Inward is the way I like that boat to run.
In my opinion, 14.75 is too small to go with the Q4 props. I would highly suggest 15" diameter first. We can of course, do this for you if you desire.
Thanks,
Brett

Brett,
Are my stock props the old Mirage's (no plus's)...states "Quicksilver 4813704 a40 23p RH and 48 13705 a40 23 p LH" or something else?
You think the 292 SRI likes them cupped some more. I also have Bravo 1's 22p that came with the boat, haven't ran them? Or...could take that Rev 21 labbed and get a LH one for it and dump the bravo's 1...rpm 4800/1.50 gear/62mph..bravo ones last owner claims lost 3 mph top end same 4500 rpm's...
Much help appreciated.

The Mirages should be just what they say. Never know if they have been worked before though.
The slip % with the 23's is 11 and that is good. More cup could help cruise speed.
Tha Bravo 1's will need work (Labbing) to make them the best on that particular hull.
