Default 382 Fastech w/600's

New to me, 1.50 XR's on Stellings boxes. Ran 80gps turning stock 30p Bravo ones @ 5,100. What Maximus should I start with? Looking for good cruise efficiency. Boat is equipped with gen & air.

Thanks

what diameter B!'s..27 x 15.5 would be best if they make them...if not labbed 28's x 15.5

Maximus propellers decrease rpm by 500-600 compareing stock castings of the same pitch in Bravo 1 and Maximus.

Therefore, a 30 Maximus will take you to aprox. 4600 rpm. Lab Finishing that same 30 pitch casting at 15.25" diameter and with the correct recipe will get you to 5000 rpm and provide the best cruise speeds.
Using a 28 pitch Maximus casting in stock form will drop your rpm to 4900-5000. Labbing that propeller casting correctly will bring you back to the 5300 rpm range offering great acceleration and a better cruise speed than the Bravo 1.

So, overall performance including throttle response the 28's. Incredible cruise and acceptable throttle response the 30's.

Because your slip is over 15%, you shouldn't lose any top speed either.

Let me know if you want to test any Maximus castings.

Brett

Are you willing to run a 5 blade?

I had a 382 with built 540's making 630hp. I could spin labbed 30P Bravo's to 5,500 but the best cruising props I had were 28P Maximus that were labbed AND 15 1/2 diameter. I could spin them 5,200 but they cruised 58 (GPS) at 3,500....slip was around 10-11% The 30P Bravos wouldn't hit 50 at 3,500.

I've since sold the boat but the current owner might be interested in selling them....I had about $3,400 in them but he's got to decide what he'll take for them.

Watch the maximus props if you get sporty with the throttles or drive it hard. May reduce drive life from loading the drives harder. If you focus on just cruise and don't drive it hard you will see a big cruise # improvement

Shallow Minded, yes it's the one Eddie had listed. I popped for a leakdown & was very happy with the results. Now I have to get this one propped right! Find someone to buy my other boat!

BOATAHOLIC, I know the 5 blades can be hard on drives. I have purchased a spare XR as to minimise down time in the event of a drive failure.

I have a 382 as well with twin 575SC motors spinning labbed 28P bravo 1 at a 5300 RPM. Best GPS speed is 79 mph. My boat has bravo drives (No boxes) along with air and gen package, so it is heavy. Any recomendations?
