Default Prop help for 27' Fountain

Based on what everyone post about how fast their Boat runs ....... I need help !

96' - 27 Fountain 502 with a little motor work done

15 1/4 X 22 - on GPS would run 56 @ 4700 RPM

15 1/4 X 24 - on GPS would run 58 @ 4500 RPM

Any help I will take ! .......... Fountain claims the Boat should run 70 with my setup

I think you are in the ballpark with the props. Based on your RPM's/speed are you sure your not missing something with the motor setup?

I had both of those props on an '00 27 Fever and hit 70 with the 24's. I would start looking at the health of the engine.

The Boat has around 400 total ............ the Original Owner did not keep accurate records so I'm not sure when he had Triple R Racing in Ill. do the engine work. I plan on doing Comp. test this winter

Q) Could it be I'm not getting enough Fuel to the Motor ........... I have Elec. Fuel Pump - Holly 7lbs. but I need to add Pressure Gauge to see where it's at ???

Something is wrong. My 1998 Velocity 280 with a 502 mag would run 68 no problem......light load a good chop and some work 72 was possible. Now I know Velocity is faster, but you, IMO should be at least mid sixtys.

Call Fountain and get your performance report. It will have all of that info for you. This is a great starting point to get the most performance out of your boat. Some say you'll never see these numbers, but it will be close based on my experience.

This is from my old 27.
