87 Baja 240 sport Prop question.
I have an 87 240 sport, with a 496 stroker putting down about 550hp. I’m swapping the alpha for a bravo 1, but I got a smokin deal on a 1.36 gear ratio. Does anyone know what prop I should start with?

I could spin a 23 Mirage + to 5450 with about 420hp on my 93 24 Outlaw with a 1.5.
With your additional HP, you should be close to the right WOT rpm with the 1.36.

I had 1992 24 outlaw 502 390 hp 1.5 gear 25 pitch 3 blade mirage. 5000 rpm 68 -70 mph. Liked that boat. 24 degree, trailered nice, fast and efficient

Our 23 OB/FX 4 blade would be a good candidate. These props have a ton of bow lift built into them.
Get a baseline with whatever prop you can find and post the results and we can go from there.
1.36 gears from 1.50 gears require down sizing about 2 inches of pitch.

I would add a 21 or 23" Rev 4 in the mix as well. Due to the larger blade area a 21" Rev 4 will load the motor like a 23" Mirage. A 23" Rev 4 will load the motor like a 25" Mirage etc. Slip, trim and handling characteristics will be much different between the two styles.
