Wrong Prop

Hello all!
I just joined this forum today. I'm an avid boater for 30+ years. I purchased a beautiful 95 hour, 2016, 26' Baha Outlaw, 8.2 Mag Ho motor. It has a 22P Bravo 1, 4 blade prop on it. I'm only getting 58-59 mph top end at 5900-6000 RPM. 1/2 tank of gas, trims up along with trim tabs up.
I'm thinking that the prop should be at least a labed 23P-4 blade to get more top end.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you!

What ratio is your drive? I'm in a PQ280 with a ProCharged 496HO, and I'm turning a Bravo1 28P prop, running 76-77 at 5000 RPM. You should be able to keep up with me, I'd think, with a stock 8.1HO and two feet less boat. Assuming your drive is a 1.5 ratio, my guess is you should be running at least a 26P.
Thanks. Brad.

26 outlaw with 8.2mag/380hp is a low 60's mph boat.

A true "502 Magnum H.O. is 430 ponies, I believe...
I wonder if the o.p. ever got a chance to confirm rpm numbers? Things just don't add up there.

As others have said. Your tach is wrong. Get it on a scanner and see what the actual WOT RPM is at. Without accurate data you can't make an informed decision.
