did I see right? did you also cut the ''outside'' layer of fiberglass and gelcoat of the transom completly out? if so, why?

Seebold265NJ 01-01-2013 07:32 PM

Where does it look that way? I removed everything up to the hull, it's about 1/4 inch thick fiberglass.

post 37 picture number one??? or I just did not see right?

That's a pic from the transom looking forward. Imagine I did cut out the back? Not too sure I'd make this boat be able to float safety anymore haha

Got some real good progress done this weekend on her. I've spent the last couple weeks getting things water proofed and ready to go. I started yesterday glueing in my bulkhead and cabin stringers and it looks real nice having solid wood back in this boat! I got the transom glue and fileted yesterday with a couple buddies and came in this morning and tabbed it in as well as putting down two layers of 1708 for the strength. I just fabbed the engine stringers and bonded them a few minutes ago. I'm thinking next weekend I will be done with all the engine compartment glass work! Its coming together alot fast than I thought!

I hear you're the guy to go to for glass knowledge. I hope I'm doing this right! The only thing I'm not happy with is the fileting work that was done over the PL adhesive made the adhesive wrinkle. I will be bonding in my engine stringers with thickened resin next weekend for sure. If I were to do it again I would only use thickened resin. Next time haha

WoW, nice work. Looks Great! I am surprised you will still talk to me...... Definitely did not think it needed that much work. I would like to say I am shocked, but it is a boat. I know the previous owner would be floored at the amount of work it needed. Pardon the pun.....

Damn son. You've been busy ;)
Looks awesome. Great work.

No harm done! Like you said it's a boat! I'm still extremely happy with the deal you gave me on her! I could have just slapped some cabin stringers and a floor in it but I plan on keeping this boat for a long time so I had to do it right! I sure have put a "Crazy" amount of work in her haha. Hope all is well up there!
