The best upgrade I got for the boat arrived yesterday! I got these McLeod electric bolsters for CHEAP. Thanks to IZNOD for the great deal. They aren't perfect but they are a HUGE upgrade from my old style bolsters. I'm just gonna clean them up and fabricate new legs for them and then next year get them re upholstered.

Got the dash painted today. It aint perfect (wont fit in the spray booth) but Its alot better than the black dash. I'm gonna get new dash and switch panels made in silver and I got some hardin stainless gauges with blue rings. I'm glad I'm done with the nasty dusty/dirty work. Now its all finish work and puttin pretty stuff on it!

that's got to feel good!
nice work! in fact when the dust is over, there is still a lot of work ahead, but it is a whole lot more fun !!! |
Wow great project. A friend of mine bought an identical color new boat in 1989, it was either an 88 or 89. Use to run it on Oneida Lake, NY and 1000 Islands. His was powered by a 454Mag/Bravo 1. He saw an honest 64-65mph. There was an earlier response saying 70mph with the 385hp. That's a little optimistic to what we saw. Maybe 10 gallons of gas and one operator. My buddy never saw above 67 on the stock speedo. Boat ran great, alot of fun. It was a little flighty and ass heavy but always solid. We use to run with a pack of 25 Checks all the time. Calmer water the Seebold was marginally faster but in the rough the Checks had a slight advantage. One time (not at band camp), we were running WOT through the channel (way before the current speed limit) at Alexandria Bay and caught a perfect storm of wakes from two Uncle Sam tourboats. Pucker Factor to the hilt. Several witnesses said the skeg was an honest 5 feet out of the water and hull almost verticle (not a good position to be in), we hit hard, a broken toe, one guy broken finger, other bruised ribs and cooler all over the place but the boat made it through without a creak or groan. We headed to Rum Runners and the boat stayed docked for the rest of the day. LOL Good luck!

Awesome. Keep the pics coming.

When do we get to see it uncovered with the windshield and new paint?

Soon!! The gauge cluster is in and I have to send out the switch panel to be made so I can get the whole boat wired and "hot" again! I spun a bearing in my Marauder so unfortunately that has taken time, money and concentration away from the boat.

Wow! I owned a '91 265 Eagle, was an interesting boat. Let me see if I can dig up a pic or two of it.
