I agree lilred, my comparison was between the flat deck and KV. And thanks for the encouragement that someone else had built a nice boat for under 30k.

Keep up the great work and pics please! I love these threads I got a smaller boat I've been working on the last few years. I want to do a restoration on a bigger offshore in a few years!

well I finally get a weekend to get a little work done. I spent about 4 hrs just going through the boat and cleaning things and inspecting everything as i went. there were some areas where I was pleased to see that things were in good condition and then there were areas where things were not so good.when I got the boat the port motor was already out and apart, but I was courious if the starbord motor ran. so I towed it outside, hooked a hose to it,hooked some batteries up and tried it. to my surprise with a little gas down the carb she fired up and ran for about 30 sec. she sounded good and the oil press.came right up so I stopped there, at least I have one good motor to work with. after that I began to dismantle. I have a long road ahead!! I've got some pics I am going to put up.

Here's some recent pics of the boat. Didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but I'm trying to pay close attention to how everything is coming apart so it's taking a little more time. Upon further inspection, looks like I'm gonna have to replace the fuel tanks.
