So it was strongly advised to me to run hydraulic steering...lol and I have to agree. from the sounds of what my little 6.0 will be pushing it may be in my best interest to do so...lol so any advice on what kit to run would be great. I need something I can make work with my alpha drive. I'm not sure if the bravo kits would bolt up to the alpha or not. granted nothing on my boat is going to be off the shelf parts anyways so why would I expect this to be any different?? :D I know many people are probably thinking why would I put this much money in a small boat. well I know I'll be in pushing 10 deep easy on this build, its more of a passion to be different. why go out and buy the same boat 20 other people on the lake have? I can say no one will ever have another boat just like mine. this is purely a passion of mine. I love being able to say something is truly my own. now granted I had originally expected about 4-5K invested but hey its only money ;) this is what happens when a car guy gets turned loose...lol

All dresses up and no where to go. :) thats my sensor harness all braided up. Ill have a seperate harness for the coils as they are being mounted off the engine down on the stringers. I figure that will be the easiest way to do it. I dropped off the engine at the shop today sadly I won't see it back for a while. For no other reason than I told him no rush on it. Besides that may cut me a break on price as he can work on it when hes slow. If this waa race season I wouldn't dream of telling him that lol I wouldnt see it back till fall. |
So I finally mounted my iat... I got one out of a 92 typhoon and it should work great. On the lq4 intake it has a purge solenoid on top of the intake. So I opened the hole up a little and tapped that to 3/8 npt and installed my sensor. Looks stock ill post up a pic so you can see what I'm talking about. My next hurdle is connecting my throttle cable to the new throttle body. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Is That Engine Harnest Coope Wire
|
Its nylon braided wire loom. Looks killer but you have to plan everything out then cover it in the loom. They claim it will fit over connectors... but I didn't have good luck with that so I fed it in from the ecu pins then slid it out to the ends. Took forever all the ends are shrink wrapped as well.

I Mean is It copper Or Aluminum WIre. The Harness That Came With My Msd Box Is Universal Length So It Looks Like Crap. I Was Gonna Change The Length But It's Aluminum So I Can't Solder It
|
Its the factory gm harness. Its copper wire. They must have used aluminum to save on cost but that sucks. You could always de-pin the wire from the connector and make an all new wire the length you need.
