I love the Internet, I was talking about my engine and state that I have 10k invested into it now. I say that I've researched every part that went into it and spent money where it was necessary. A guys response. Those don't look like head studs. Uh, no they are arp bolts. So, how does me using bolts over studs change anything I stated?? Last I checked arp head bolts are pretty serious. ..lol

Exactly. .. I'm not boosted, not spinning 8k rpm, not making 800 horsepower. And arp bolts are seriously strong.

So I did a test run for my ez efi harness layout. Oh yeah, it's pretty dam nice. Getting closer to a dyno run...

My tow rig, I don't think I ever posted a pic of my new truck. Yes it's a 6.0 gas motor.... lol. And I do plan on putting a magnacharger on it eventually. Next is an idea I'm playing with. Granted I like to sit on the sun pad while the kids are playing in the water. But I love the look of this. http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps8cvzdze5.jpg and if the person who took this pic would like me to take it down. Just tell me and I'll remove it. |
I really like how the intake turned out! I went with the sinister black look on my edelbrock pro Flo Xt and love how it looks. Planning to do the valve covers in carbon. It's weird how not too many boat guys dig the carbon look. Looks like you are getting close.

So I decided to run a dual catch can for my engine. Anyone familiar with the Gen 3 ls knows they like to ingest oil. So I decided better safe than sorry. So I modified my ez ls harness, had to change the plugs from the ev6 to the Delphi plugs. That was freaking easy. I've had a nice crimper for those leads and finally got to use it. Took just a few minutes and it was all done. Now I'm waiting on my msd plug wires to show up so I can get it ready to fire. So does anyone have a suggestion on what temp thermostat to run?

man yr engine looks sweet, i wish i had done black. explain how yr evap system. i thought you run a hone from inake to catch can then to valve cover? and do you got a up close picture of that -an fitting on left rear valve cover going into that grommet? looking good

Yup, valve cover to catch can, then catch can to intake. I just used a 1/2 npt to -6 an fitting and turned it into the grommet. I will be running another can for the right side of the engine. These ls engines can really guzzle oil. They fixed that with the pcv being built into the valley cover. I'm not taking any chances with oil ingestion. I still need to get out and measure that cable for you. |
So I've been looking at my choices for seats and nothing appeals to me. Now I get to see if I can build a set. So just in case you guys don't think my build is impressive enough already, I've been working with one good arm.
http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/y...psqgxefrdi.jpg http://i776.photobucket.com/albums/y...psnrjrlgd1.jpg I wish I had a picture of my arm with the plates in it. So the next time anyone thinks about skimping out on safety, think of these pics. And the next time someone thinks they can't do something, remember I'm still trying my hardest to keep moving forward. I now have been told by three different doctors that I should have died that day. Yet I'm still kicking. We always hear people taking about safety, well I'm here to tell you that it is really important. I make a joke all the time now when I speak about my accident, no one ever listens to the shop teacher who has all his fingers. A lot of us work on our own stuff here. So when I say please be safe, I mean it. I can't turn a wrench with my left arm, I can't use a pair of pliers, or turn a screwdriver. I can't pick my own kids up without sever pain. Let's face it, many of us have cut corners when working on things. Gravity pulls objects at 32 ft per second, how long do you think it takes for and engine to fall. Or a vehicle to fall when a jack fails. You're not fast enough, trust me. I know a great deal of you already follow the correct way to do things, but with our season just around the corner I just want to give everyone something to think about. I was a bodybuilder and power lifter for 19 years of my life, and in a fraction of a second everything I had ever worked for is done for. I can never again follow that passion of mine. So please be safe out there. |
