Trying to decide on if I should paint the valve covers or not.

Dang that looks pretty sweet smooth. I didn't paint mine but I wish I had clear coated them cause I can see oxy spots on them now

Feverz29 12-10-2014 07:47 PM

Paint them in a scheme that matches your hull. My 2 cents.

sdg0080 12-10-2014 08:07 PM

I plan on painting the intake the same color as part of the haul. I think I may make a carbon fiber insert on the valve covers. Right now they are just really polished but I may paint them.

smooth them and do a carbon fiber dip.

boom... carbon fiber insert on shaved stock ls valve cover. I'm planning on painting the cover red but now after seeing the contrast with the primer I'm just like damn... that looks killer.

Have you seen any of K2 Concepts work? I have had him do a few large interior pieces and all I can say is "wow". That technology is truly amazing. Going to have my valve covers dipped this winter. IMO carbon fiber is so cool. I'm surprised more guys don't use it in boats.
