Works incredibly well if you take your time. I was at the IBEX show a year or so ago and had a chance to hold a few raw dash panels from Innetech or whatever there name is. Really cool stuff but it kinda looked like thats how they did it. I made several in the shop with incredible results. Wish i took some pick I'll see if i can find a panel around here.

I always wonder about all the parts that get made to have "the carbon fiber look" that could just be carbon fiber..... I played with back in my jet ski days. It's not that hard to work with and it's crazy how strong and light it is. I made and exhaust tube out of like 4 layers of mat.....I later took it off and could jump on it without braking it....

That would be a very intresting little project...Just how would you.... or what would you use to laminate them together and still keep a translucent apperance?????....acrylic cement..plz elaborate this sounds intriguing

Another option you can do is to have the panel made from aluminum...then hydro-dipped in carbon fiber...then you take it to a laser engraver for all the lettering and finally have it all clear coated....would give you the depth of real carbon and on the plus side all the lettering would be under the clear so it would be all smooth across the face

any decent laminating epoxy, something that cures slow (but not to slow i'm impatient and want to see the final product lol) you need something that flows well and naturally wets out the CF cloth to aid in inhibiting air entrapment.

Can you laminate CF to a fiberglass sheet and then drill or route that with carbine drill/router bits have the look of CF on a much cheaper fiberglass backed panel?
