Thanks, appreciate your comment!
And today I went out to see the progress in the paint-shop with my own eyes (and camera)
Here are some pictures from that visit.

The next picture had some strange effects that got me thinking for a while till I realized I had used the flash and had gotten reflections from the hull-side.

I'm really impressed with the outcome, but Roger who does the paint-work wasn't totally satisfied with the finish, so most probably this side will be sanded down a bit and one more layer of clear-coat applied

Thanks for the comment!
I notice I haven't posted any updates for a long time, but now the paint job is in the final stages.
One pic before clear-coating.

And a few pictures after.

One more layer of clear-coat left to do on the other side, and after that it should be time for polishing.

Very nice work. Only those who have done a restoration like this can truly appreciate the man hours and financial input that a result such as this has really cost. A labour of love, doing something similar myself, there is something special about the boats from the 80's. Heading for a great result.

OK, one more year has passed by...

The project is not dead, but it has been on hold for a while due to my work situation.
The next thing that happened was that there were some problems in the paintshop when they applied the second layer of clearcoat on the port side, Lots of "fish-eyes" appeared. So it was sanded down again and a third layer applied with the same result. So after that the entire paintshop and everything in it was sanitized and the boat was sanded down again and new clearcoat applied but once again with the same result. But in the end the cause was found, their supplier of textile rags had changed washing detergent and silicone got into the paintshop with the rags. But looking on the bright side I got 5-7 layers of clearcoat. And once the cause was found it didn't last long until I got the following picture to my cell phone.

And having gotten that photo I had to see the result for myself. When I got there I asked Roger who's done the paint job if he was satisfied and his answer was "It'll have to do", And that is about as positive as he gets so when he said that I knew I would be satisfied.
