Wow you already got the engine running??? Your fast! We did closed cooling on my friends check mate. The heat exchanger was mounted lower than the engine so we had a hard time getting it to cool right. Ended up being air pocket in cooling system. Used a air vac and filled it with vacuume and it works fine now. Idk how yr system is set up..

Hello Kelly,

Not "quite" that fast...I have been building this for five years... :-)

I also have closed cooling on my Ls project....if you can see the attached pictures the heat exchanger is the lower black tube one...the smaller "tube" is the combined steering and oil cooler.

Getting all the air out is a pain...I had to re-do the lower 'piping' since getting the air out of that U-shaped hose was impossible...I had to replace that hose with T-junction to get the air out. But even with that the system didn't work as it should have...but now without the thermostat it works fine.

If you look at the post #12 on this topic you can see a YouTube vid on the engine runnig.

First encounter with water is planned next week...wednesday probably...still have some upholstery work to do...and some fine tuning

.... tach is reading 1/4 of the real rpm and fuel press gauge is showing some weird error (digital gauge) and the same goes for wide band lambda...
