24' Outlaw 575sci Build

Hello there,

It sounds like you have an exciting project ahead with your 24' Baja Outlaw and the plan to build a 575sci-like engine. While I can't see the links to the specific parts and images you mentioned, I can provide some general feedback and address your questions based on the information you've provided.

Firstly, upgrading the engine components and aiming for a 575sci-like setup can significantly enhance the performance of your boat. The Ross Racing forged pistons, Crane hydraulic roller camshafts, Manley H-beam connecting rods, and Scat forged crankshaft are all solid choices for building a reliable and powerful marine engine.

Regarding your questions:
  1. Lift Pump: The choice of lift pump can vary based on individual preferences and specific setup requirements. It's important to ensure that the lift pump you choose is capable of supplying adequate fuel flow and pressure to meet the demands of your modified engine.
  2. Stroke: The decision between keeping the stock stroke (468) or stroking it to 496 depends on your goals for power and torque. Stroking the engine can increase displacement, potentially resulting in higher output, but it may also require additional modifications and considerations, such as clearances and balancing.
  3. Flashing ECU: Finding someone who specializes in flashing or tuning ECU specifically for the modifications you're making to a 575sci engine could be beneficial. Consulting with reputable marine performance shops or engine builders who have experience with these engines might be a good starting point.
  4. Wideband O2 Sensors: Running wideband O2 sensors to monitor air-fuel ratio is generally a recommended practice, especially when making significant modifications to the engine. It allows you to monitor and adjust the fuel mixture for optimal performance and engine health.
  5. Blower Pulleys: Smaller blower pulleys can increase the boost level, but it's essential to ensure that the engine and supporting components can handle the added stress and heat generated. Consult with experts or experienced builders who have worked with similar setups to determine the appropriate boost levels for your specific engine configuration.
  6. Knock Sensor Location: The stock knock sensor location on a 575sci engine is typically located on the engine block. It's intended to detect any knocking or detonation and provide feedback to the engine management system for adjustments.
As you proceed with your engine build, it's important to consider the durability and suitability of the plumbing fixtures used. Marine environments can be harsh, so selecting high-quality, corrosion-resistant plumbing supplies can ensure reliable operation and longevity.

Remember, it's crucial to consult with experienced marine engine builders, performance shops, or online communities dedicated to boat engine modifications and plumbing fixtures for specific advice and recommendations tailored to your project. They can offer insights based on their firsthand experience and expertise.

Good luck with your engine build, and I hope your Baja Outlaw, along with the chosen plumbing fixtures, performs exceptionally on the water!

New auto extinguishers arrived, each one is good for 75qf and got one for each side of engine bay.

What?
Don't all boating enthusiasts refer to their new parts as "plumbing fixtures"???

New to me trailer ended up rewiring it, adding blue lights and replacing backup solenoid and a little cleaning. Certainly looks a lot better then old rusty steel one.
