All of the stringer filler pieces are in and curing as I make this post. Without Joe and Logan I would still be sanding. Thanks a bunch guys! Not sure if he’s got a profile on OSO but Jim gave me a couple tips a while back and tried one of them out tonight. Blue tape stopped all excess resin from running down stringers or building up on the bottom of the bilge. Pulling the tape off should be much easier than sanding the resin down!

Tomorrow there is some holes I would like to fill, redo the drain holes between stringers, level the bottom so water drains properly, clean up some hardened resin around the filler pieces, and look into eliminating the water pick ups.

If any Skater guys have eliminated the water pickup or have any info about doing so and if it was worth the work please add some info here!

Eliminating water pick-up on bottom of hull

I haven’t worked on the boat in quite a while. Needed a break from sanding and sanding and sanding. Bought a jet ski and rode that quite a bit to just get out on the water. Then switched to snowmobiling. I’ve got a layer of glass on one of the stringers I plan on cutting templates and a bunch of glass out tonight then turn the furnace up and glass it all in tomorrow night when the barn and hull is nice and toasty. The thought of dropping it off at skater has been crossing my mind more frequently lately LOL!

Spent some time in the bilge tonight laid 2 layers of glass on the stringers I added. The stringers were 1/4” thinner then the existing stringers and the two layers of glass made them flush with the old ones! Filled the old engine mount holes with cabosil / resin aswell. Onto the starboard side tomorrow evening.

You need way more over lap on the new glass. 3 to 4 inches on all sides . But looks good for a filler.
