Your builder would know best but I wouldnt spin it past 5400. I might be worth calling BBlades and getting his opinion on the prop. Also when if you are trying 3 blades I was told the standard Mirage worked better than the plus on our hull.
Thanks Eric, i agree and I found a guy that is going to let me try a 30 4 blade just to see what that does. I want to try to get WOT at around 5200 r's 5300 max and i have my rev limiter at 5500. If your out this weekend we will have to catch up, I plan on using the boat regardless of weather You heading out of town or just staing around the bay?

As for the props if the 28 has been messed with it may not be the best baseline.. it did slip quite a bit more than the 26 did & not know whats been done to who knows ?? In my opinion its gonna be hard to run a 3 blade on a 28' deep V with any efficiancy.. It would be really nice to find someone that would let you borrow a 2" or 3" shorty.. Even with the drive burried that deep I would have guessed it would have turned the a bit harder but its always easier to say that in theory.. haha..

Scott, i forgot to answer your other question. Compression is 8.9:1, and timing set at 30'. Again, built with very mild cam and all the "good" parts, and built to last (whatever that means. hehe)

Bump, can't believe it's been over ten years since there's been a post on this thread.

Hotjava - did you sell your boat? Thought that was your 28 listed in 2018.

Sold a few years ago, I believe it has been resold since. Miss it, but season is short here and have other obligations with the kids these days. Was a great boat, may have another one in the future, the newer outboard boat and 34 with Illmors are both awesome.
