WickedWon

Made an offer with deposite on WickedWon today. Will know Monday or Tuesday if they accept. Looked at her last Saturday, not to bad. Dusty and the aluminum needs work.

Racegirl3 05-30-2008 06:11 PM

Hope it works out .... That is one wickedly cool boat :D

Dan Adams 05-30-2008 06:48 PM

Yup, me too. No reason it won't though....both motors would have to be wasted and even then...I'm pretty sure they're in decent shape....will find out about them soon.
Ya, she's one hardcore boat. Thank's for the moral support ! !

NickOTeen 05-30-2008 06:58 PM

I got my fingers crossed for you... WW is the baddest V on the planet IMO.

Dan Adams 05-30-2008 07:03 PM

Thank's man, I plan on giving her a good home, with short summers and rough water.

Nykamp 05-30-2008 08:32 PM

Good luck, I used to take care of her for the last 2 owners. I'll be back in GH in a week or so, let me know if I can help in any way. I LOVE THAT BOAT.

BGIII 05-30-2008 08:37 PM

Good Luck Dan, I would love to see that boat roaming the West Michigan waters.

Dan Adams 05-31-2008 06:16 AM

Thanks BGIII, I'll do my best.
Nykamp, I would love to hear about WW from you. Your input will help alot. I am getting some quotes on rebuilds, and thinking over the many options of detuning. More questions on how to drive this boat, with transfering ballast tanks, 6s on boxes, blower motors....etc. I'm sure it's a completely different story than what I know. I'll keep all posted on the progress of the deal. Nykamp, CJ at the Wharf has my
number. Thanks

WS402 05-31-2008 06:58 AM

Anyone have pictures ?

birdog 05-31-2008 07:07 AM

Thats one bad-azz offshore. I'm sure Nykamp & Dietz will answer any questions you have, Both are good guys

Wow !

Queenie 05-31-2008 08:58 AM

Good luck on the puchase of the boat! We knew it wouldn't be for sale for very long.

Dan Adams 05-31-2008 09:11 AM

I stood back and watched for 6 whole days after I found out, couldn't stand it any longer. Some one was going to.....then all the shoulda coulda, kick myself for not stuff. I couldn't get those huge bulkheads out my mind, let alone the 6s, ballast tanks and the industrial nature of that boat.

Queenie 05-31-2008 09:15 AM

We know Dietz and have seen the boat numerous times. It's certainly is a fitting name for the boat!

We have a good friend here in Mentor that wants her badly. Hopefully you can make some trips down here near Cleveland to join us on a poker run when you're done with her.

Dan,
Nykamp could probably get you in touch with Jim. He will tell you how and why the boat is rigged. He is a great guy to talk to. He made allot of decisions on how it was rigged.

Dan Adams 05-31-2008 11:46 AM

Chief, it sounds good. If all goes well she should be in the water mid July. Your friend in Mentor....can't have it:D

J-Bonz, ya I'll be calling Nykamp sometime next week. Only two things I want to change, 6 pk may turn into a 5 pk. And it's kinda hard to find race fuel everywhere so we'll have to turn it down a little.

Right on! I hope I get to see that rig again

Nykamp 05-31-2008 04:22 PM

Dan, I sent you a PM with some info and some phone #'s, get her running and bring her to Boyne Thunder in July, she's been there before.Talk to you this week, Steve.

WS402 06-01-2008 08:04 AM

Again , Wow ! Where is this boat located as I will be travelling to ohio next week for work , and hoping to see a few boats that are available . This one would be at the top of the list !

well dan you get the lucky dog award. ww is one bad hot rod. best of luck.
todd

Dan Adams 06-02-2008 02:18 PM

Thank's Todd, haven't heard yet if they have accepted the offer. It wasn't a low ball by any means. About all I should say. Being a repo I think there is some extra red tape involved in the process.

baronmarine 06-02-2008 02:41 PM

it sure looks like a great buy. and it well be great to see it in gh again. if you have any questions on the boat of coures doug at sabar or ben at precision power in spring lake did a lot of service/maintenance work on it. and i'm sure with the amount of wax nykamp has put on it, it will cleanup great.

Dan Adams 06-02-2008 04:00 PM

the blowers and any other aluminum in the engine room will take some elbow grease to get it back up to the Dietz standard. but that's the plan. real anxious to do a leak down an compression check as well. i'll let ya know.

Nykamp 06-02-2008 04:38 PM

I didn't get to CRC the bilge before she went to Key West, that would have really helped. Just a heads of if you bring her south, crc the bilge. Dave will take of your Mech. needs right at The Wharf.

cfischer 06-02-2008 04:44 PM

Dan,

Call me as soon as you here from North Shore. I have the tank ready to get the fuel out. Barretts has a pump so we will just use theirs. I talked to my mechanic at the Wharf and he is ready whenever to do a leak down and compression test.

Dan Adams 06-02-2008 05:02 PM

hey bro, i won't be able to dial the phone fast enough. you're the man!

Dan Adams 06-02-2008 05:07 PM

hey Steve, got your pm. give you a call later this week. i have some questions.
dan

WS402 06-02-2008 05:55 PM

You won't need the ballast tanks .

Nykamp 06-02-2008 05:57 PM

Dan, give Craig a call @ Appearance Products in GR @ 1-616-827-8641, he should be able to give you some cockpit int. ideas. He did Moons Apache and Kurts TG, talk to you soon, Steve.

littledcsrodshop 06-02-2008 08:13 PM

Congrats on your purchase to be ! I seen it the day it went on traderonline & I had that instant " I wish I had the cash syndrome " & I had a feeling that it wouldn't be forsale for very long... I can't wait to see some recent pictures of the boat.. It sounds like its going to a good home , so please take care of my "big brother"

wananewboat 06-02-2008 08:35 PM

I saw the boat in KW two years ago. When it pulled in the owners washed and cleaned the boat and motors very well. I was very impressed. It looked like you could beat the boat with a bat and nothing would happen it was built so well. I couldn't imagin owning that boat and then having it repoed.

Dan Adams 06-03-2008 06:54 AM

I think the boat has just sat untouched for a couple years? Steve, I don't think CRC would have helped that. Does anyone know when it went on boattrader?
How many 41s were built? Any info on the layup or other details of WW that anyone knows of, I would love to hear. WW looks alot like...is it "Victorys"? Is there a connection between the two? Littledcsrodshop, what about WWs little brother? I think the yellow and back is classic old school hotrod, very cool. I really like the fact these are boats built in MI to take the unbelievable abuse that Lake MI can dish out at less than a moments notice.

BGIII 06-03-2008 07:03 AM

Dan, WW is definitely the same boat as Victory's. I am pretty sure there are 4-41's. Ancestral Spirit (originally tadpole), Flames, WW (originally Victory's) and Clifford.

Here is a pic. of my 28 that J.D. had built before he built W.W. (I belive you can see a few similarities) & as BGIII said W.W. & Victorys are the same boat. I am not sure when the name changed but if I was guessing I would say it was sometime around when the interior color changed from its original color of red to the gray that is in it now..

Also as BGIII said I belive that there are only 4 of the 41's
White-yellow & purple flame boat , Parnells boat , W.W. , & Jerry's Clifford... There were only 22 of the 28's built & not sure how many but there were a few 24's built in there somewhere...... Not sure of the exact date of when it went on boat trader but its not been long ago , maybe a couple weeks ?

Welcome to a lonely section of the board....:D

littledcsrodshop 06-03-2008 09:49 AM

So are you wanting to put the interior back red ??

Dan Adams 06-03-2008 09:51 AM

Lonely section? naa, secluded.

Dan Adams 06-03-2008 09:57 AM

red interior

Ya, like this, bolsters and a bench, same colors....took me awhile to figure out how to get this picture on.

Dan Adams 06-03-2008 09:59 AM

now it has six pack style, love it for hard running-nobody moves. Hate it for hanging out-nobody moves.
