Mike J,

I can't get those files to load on here. I'm no computer wiz. They need to be changed to a different kind of file.

Does anyone want me to sent these pics to them so they can attempt to post them here? They're pretty interesting!

FYI,
My Netscape version 4.7 will not view .php format images but Internet Exporer version 5.50 or above does. IE is a free download for older Windows OS versions and is inlcuded on newer Windows OS like Windows 2000 and XP.

Buck,
I have switchable mufflers (I think they are Teague or Corsa) that I took out of my 1997 26' Scarab. I can sell you those , and then all you will need is some standard Merc elbows and some flexible exhaust tubing. That is the way it came from the factory in my boat. I also have some Stainless marine Cast aluminum manifolds , and elbows that will work with those mufflers, that can be had cheap.

I just looked at the pictures again, all you need to do is drill new holes in the transom, add the mufflers and it looks like you have enough flexible tubing and your done.
Drill two holes , some glass work and a little wiring and your done !

buck183 03-19-2002 10:58 PM

26scarab,

I think we talked about using your parts before. Believe me, I have not forgot that you have that stuff.

Maybe I'm being a little anal about this. I think I can do it and use the existing exhaust outlets though. That's the way I'd like to do it.

I may need some of your parts to make it work though.

Still thinking.

Believe me I understand why you don't want to drill new holes in the transom.
I hate doing that s#$t , I was a nervous wreck when I added the external steering and had to drill into the transom.

buck183 03-20-2002 02:21 AM

You got it.

It's kind of ironic really. In my truck accessory business I drill holes in other people's vehicles just about every day without a second thought.

Anyway, one way I am thinking about doing it is this. Using both the existing exits and drilling new ones. Using your divertors. This way I can still have a muffled exhaust w/o trying to go through the prop. My existing exits can't be seen anyway. I could drill new ones above my drive and use some of your parts to switch between my existing stuff and the new exits. What do ya think??? Have I put TOO much thought into it??? Would that look REDNECK? :D

Take another look at the pic and see what you think.

I dunno?

I think use a standart Converter and your old 90"Elbow. Buy a Y-pipe to prop (807130A4 (Exhaust Pipe 454 MAg Bravo 1992-94)) ant the Merc , Corsa ore Eddie Marine Y Pipe converter !!!

Buck,
I don't know if I'm following you , why would you want to switch between what you have and the new?

buck183 03-20-2002 06:54 PM

26scarab,

Pretty simply really. To keep the wife and kids happy! LOL

I don't think she'll care for an open exhaust all the time.

This would give me the option to use my existing muffled exhaust or go straight out the back. At least that's my theory. Whatever it's worth.

I get it now !!!:D What you have is full time
muffled. It takes me a while but I usually get it sooner or later !

buck183 03-22-2002 12:38 AM

Ding Ding Ding!!!!!!!! And the winner is..........26scarab!!!!:D :D :D

Sorry, couldn't resist.

So, what do you think of my plan? I think it will work. I need to get the boat out of storage and take a closer look at what I have. I'm on to something though.

Thanks Ed, Thats exactly what I was looking for, She sits a lot lower in the rear then I expected. Any chance you have a pic of the transom so I can see the waterline there also. I am going to super impose my graphics design on your boat so I can get an idea what it will look like.

It really kills me to look outside and see 8 inches of snow on her!

Thanks Again
Jim

No problem...as long as you show me what my boat looks like with those grafics:D
