Scarabfun- thanks for mentioning the cork gasket- but like I said I am on my going backwards plan so I already did those a couple of years ago- are you redoing your boat too?:boat: |
yep , went through everything back there this year, engines, rebuilt the transom assembly's, added imco full hydrolic steering. still cheaper than a new boat & probably better built. quite the project over the winter, just got the engines in this past weekend so have her going soon. the weather is still crap here so not a real big issue.

Hey nice trannies!:D Like the boat too! Looks like yours was pretty nice to begin with.
Here are a few shots of the wires I am talking about- |
The only thing that you would need cable that big for is a large amp, or a windless. Or maybe a fridge. My boat had none of that sh it so I can't tell you what those are for.

got me on the wires.. i ran 71-72 last year @ 5000rpm, added more cam so shooting for 5300 or 5500 rpm. 24p cleaver style props, they were reworked so prob more like 26's or so. not planning on a reprop so all things the same i'm very interested to see the top speed. should be 74-75 if my calculations are right, i'll let u guy's know.

If a battery charger is placed forward of the engine compartment (which was the only way...) those wires would be for that. I have a complete wiring schematic that I made for my rebuild, USCG approved and with triple instalation, six batteries, and an unreal charging system where you can read what you have left on your batteries as well as what was charged. Let me know if you want it...
