Whats up Doug!
I'm putting a 502 pushing 550-600 hp.
It has a mirage plus 25p on it. The boat hasn't seen water yet,so I don't know what to expect with this set-up. Any comments on prop selection.

I would guess you're going to go up a pitch or at least have that one reworked a little. Once you get it in the water, write down RPMs at top speed and give to a prop shop and they'll steer you in right direction. Every brand of prop works different on every boat. I tried 8 different brand/style props on my last boat to get in the right ballpark, then had it tweeked to perfection.

My guess would be 72 -74 mph

Your going to have to raise the X if you want more speed.

The 28 excell,s X is set at 7 1/2"

The hull likes 4" a lot better. I personally would go higher if I could but its to much work. The ride is also better with the higher X.

Properly set up you can see 80 mph with 600 hp

Welcome to the board , Good luck with the boat. Keep us posted on your results.

Paul

Thanks for the info.

When she hits the water,I'll post the results with this prop.

72-74MPH Sounds good to me!!!

This site is great, I wish I found it sooner!
