#1
can anybody give me a trailer lenght for a scarab III. i need the distance from the nose wheel to the end of the bunks. looking to use a friends trailer and want a good measurment before i drag it over to my boat. the exact hull length for my ScarabIII is 32'9" from the tip of the bow to the transom. i would like to know what the distance from the bow wheel to the end of the bunks should be.

My trailer bunks are short of the transom by a couple feet at least. I wouldn't think that it would matter that much as long as you got good weight dist. on the trailer where it would pull OK. Too much on the back and it will wag like a dog. Too much on the front and your truck won't be very happy either.
I think that the rule of thumb is the tongue weight is 10% of the total.

i picked up a trailer that was under a Chris Craft 312 Stinger but havent tried it yet. the trailer overall measures a little over 32 feet and it is a triple axle. so far it looks like only about a foot will extend past the end of the bunks, i wasnt sure it was oK to do that but i would guess if the balance is correct than it would be OK.
