It's required... I've heard of ppl having to remove some rubrail to show it, but my complete rubrail is off... must be under the cap somewhere (?)

i would like to know where it is as well. when i drilled out the holes for the new exhaust on my III the stbd. one came out exactly where the HID# was at. problem was I started with the port side and didnt realize till the damage was already done. i keep the little puck in my dash storage just in case(not that it would do me any good 
)
