I have been in one,I also own a 98 straight bottom! The avs bottom takes a little getting used to,kind of a skipping feeling when turning, straight runs about 75max!The one I own runs 80 but has more power than the 500efis!Well built boats,is a new boat for you or are you looking at one?

I have a 2000 38 AVS the boat runs great. I Also push mine with 500 EFI's and can see 75mph in any conditions. I feel the boat is well powered with this set up, but is not an 80 mph boat. The hull is great in smooth or choppy water. My only concern moving foreward with Scarab is the avalibility of parts.
