WTB 1998 22' or 23' scarab

thats 78 to 80 mph...with between 16 to 18% slip and that% is low for a OLD boat with a low X...... and trimming it up to "wind it up" will do nothing but increase your prop slip...

I'm going to go out on a limb coolhand, but I think what patchy master P meant was "neener neener, I've fallen and I can't get up", and rather than take his lumps and bow out gracefully, he'd rather play the insect card. Wondering if he goes into the Cigarette forum and preaches the dangers of smoking?

Cheese and rice Tim your a funny som***** man.You got a great sense of humor!
BTW....what kind of boat do you have?Tell us.
Steve

I must say I am getting a kick out of this thread. I would never have posted my reply from to the guy asking what kindda boat to buy had I realized it was a Scarab only section!
But you guys are like a bunch a kids surrounding the one who is different jabbing away!
My original post about scarabs was spot on. The early scarabs didn't hold a candle to a pachanga in build quality. Is an 87 scarab hull pontentially faster than a pachanga hull? I don't know.
Yes I am guessing on what my boat will run. And frankly I don't care if it runs 70 or 100! I know a couple a people who have gotten #'s like I am guessing with less motor than I have.
The X dimension has been raised on my boat. It's been raised to the point where we had to limit how high the drive will come up because it would punch a whole through the swim platform. I have not experimented enough with the trim vs speed etc because I need a GPS to do that. @5200 RPM's I'm only making 7lbs of boost. I have the 9lb pully....will it make 9? I don't know. The guy who built the engine says it's built to stand around 6200 PPM's. I'm not gonna push it that high cause I want the motor to last a few years. The only way I'm gonna find out the true topend potential by switching props and all to let her pull to her peak is if Prostreeter takes me up on my wager!
As to the Bugs vs dance discussion....Ya'll started that!
Now...to pat you guys on the back! I like the newer scarabs. I think they are nice boats! If I had found a nice solid scarab within my budget during my year long hunt for a boat I would've probably jumped on it! I found the pachanga 1st!
Hope this puts you guys in this frame of mind!

Pro, I have a 22.3 scarab. Based on Patchy's math, It'll do about 358 miles per hour, but here on earth it dings 70, not GPS'd. I wanted a Larry Smith, but the wallet ruled that out. I think this boat has been a wonderful way to delve into the realities of what it takes to own a "performance" boat. Can hardly imagine these big boats, and what it takes to keep em alive and well.

Dude I don't want to sound ugly but you wouldn't jump into a school of sharks with a steak in each hand and wonder why they attacked so if it seems like we're jabbing at you its cause you jumped in our pool and pee'd in it. just a thought
doin the pachanga

thats funny, sorry dudeLOL! I mightta pee'd in your pool but you guys are just sh*ttin on me! Even after I tried to make amends. I will stick with my pachanga because it is a classic boat that will always have a following. Yeap, the scarabs do too but there are hundreds of scarabs laying around for 1 pachanga! I am into classic collectables.
I have tried to put my money where my mouth is with no takers. Perhaps onna these days you guys will see a blue streak fly by and wonder what the f*ck that was(already did that with a 24' python). I will be grinnin ear to ear! I have decided to go the extra mile and install external steering, good tabs, and dial her out to the max. When I finish perhaps I will make a more open bet! I know one guy that has broken the 3 digit mark with a pachanga on GPS!

hey Tim I think the macarana was a fast dance too but, I'm like you a little slow so let me know if thats not right lol!!
