Ebay will bring good numbers sometimes and other times nobody is willing to give half of what you think something is worth

Yeah! I am quite happy it didn't sell! My wife has found a couple a friends that like the boating scene and is starting to come around!

I dare say it would cost somewhere close to 20K to put together an engine like my boat has and close to 40K to get where I am with mine. I am very anxious to get a GPS and see what it'll really do. According to the BAM calculators I should see anywhere from 88 to 100+! Might do 100 but I won't push it that far. If it does the only thing touching the water would probably be the drive! One thing that I think helped was putting the bravo on it. Raised the X dimension. I haven't even tried other props yet. Buy this boat loves to be trimmed up. If ya wanna play it still keeps a pretty good bite trimmed up a little too high and will rooster a good 10ft or so high! The one thing I like about the boat is the handling...of course not at high speeds...it's a blast to muscle her up in a turn!

I gotta confess the later model scarabs do look pretty nice. Did they get over their early quality issues?

pachanga - that boat at those speeds with no external steering is dangerous. Just FYI

I understand that. My next improvements are the steering and a good set of tabs if I decide I really want a topend boat. I mainly wanted the power for a good midrange thrill. We don't usually push the boat that far. In fact I've only basiaclly strected it out once out in the big part of lake Hartwell under perfect conditions. Middle of the week,no traffic, very light chop. That's not to say I won't do it again when I get a GPS! Curiosity is killing me!

Are you on crack?
You actually think that whale of a boat would run 88 to 100 mph.Do invest in a gps, that will slow your boat down to about 70 on a good day.

Oh,and by the way,Scarab has never had a quality issue.Sea Ray has yet to build a performance boat.Their considered day cruisers.

Wanna put your money where your mouth is???? I'll wager a few K!

PS Do you even know what a Pachanga is???? Stock 454(330HP) would run 66 all day!
Dry weight is 3000lbs with a BB! Close enough.
