Did I pay too much for this scarab?
Tell me what you think guys.1997 Scarab SCS repowered in 2005 with a 502/502 mpi engine and a bravo 1 xr sportsmaster lower with external steering. The boat is what I would call a "diamond in the rough".The front seats have been re-upholstered and the rear seat and side panels are perfect. There are 4 areas on the gelcoat that are gouged up,all repairable. My marina advised 1500.00 to repair the gelcoat, polish the hell out of the hull and apply new graphics that our member here Jackhammer so graciously offered to me.
Eagle tandum trailer that has brand new tires but needs to be stripped and repainted.Since I know how to paint I'll do that myself.
There are 4 for sale in the country and the prices are all over the place...18k,35k,45k and 25k.
I paid 24k for the one I bought...
OK guys,I can handel it.Tell me the good, bad and ugly.Thanks.

Yeah, the boat has never seen the ocean, just fresh water.I had a pre purchase marine survey done and everything checked out good.
I've always loved that boat.Had a chance in 1998 to buy one for 42k but I just graduated from college and you know how that goes...no money...gotta pay back the loan.

Good job on the marine survey. You can't be too careful when spending like that.

WOW,that is a nice 29 you got there.I don't know. This 23 foot seems plenty big for me at this point and Colorados' mud holes we call lakes. If we ever move to an area that has large lakes or even the big bond I probably will move up.
Tell us more about that power plant you got in that boat please.
