1997 26 ' scarab exhaust canisters

What are they for and can they be removed.

Pull em off. sound and performance will be better. Their attempt at a muffler system.

get rid of them. You can then re-plumb your exhaust to the old thru hull holes or cap them with a plate from CP Performance and cut new holes in the transom.
