Wellcraft built these SCS's 97,98 and 99.I have not been able to confirm the production numbers but I've been told 1997 was the least amount built.Since there are very few for sale at any given time I sure would'nt think total production numbers exceed 3 or 4 thousand.
Just my opinion, dont get the Islander unless your looking for an open bow runabout.

Well, I started off looking at the 20 Outlaw, and then it was pointed out to me that the 202 Islander shares the same hull with the 20OL, just the forward deck mold is different - obviously - so it is still an offshore runabout, OAL is about 18" shorter than the SCS and weight is 750lb less.
The SCS complicates the tow vehicle situation, and in general, I didn't like the last boat we owned that was a closed bow, but it wasn't a performance boat and it was only 19' long. We just found that the br provided a good amount of extra useable space.
I really like both boats, I have no idea how I'm going to be able to look at the SCS up close - I'll be in Chicago the week after next - anyone there own one I could check out?
