Miami Vice KV questions
I have a few questions about the MV KV. Was the color on the sides above and below the color shift stripe black or very dark blue. Second, does any one have the color codes for a total redo? Who was the OEM for the cleats, rub rail and bildge vents and are any of these still avialable.
I know there is a guy on this forem that has went through the restoration process. I would like to talk to him. My email is [email protected]
Thanks in advance!

Hope this helps:
Top stripes are black. Emron Paint code 4435.
Paint Color is Black Metalic
(Note, some of the "MIAMI VICE PAINT CODE" options had them as dark blue, but on the show they were black metalic)
Fade Stripe goes front to back:
Emron 44493 Dark Viloet to
Emron 7446 Blue Metalic to
Emron 45024 Green Metalic
Deck color ordered was Turquoise ordered from Wellcraft when ordering the boat.
Cleats and vents should be readily avaialbe from any marine store. My vents when I replaced them were from West Marine. Lots of Perko parts as well. Just bring the parts with you, pretty easy to find all that stuff still.

Before arriving to Finland 1989 after the TV show auction it was painted in 1988 colours but the black stripe you mention was gloss black/dark blue not metallic.
This can be argued by looking at the papers but I have looked at the actual boat that was given to DJ as a personal boat and used at the show.

this was my old KV the paint was dark blue and arch was white
we had another guy in town with the black stripe and the silver arch we used to call it the evil twin The paint on his boat wasnt as attractive as mine (personal opinion)

Iīd like a mix of both..the cockpit gunnels and fairing all black and the newer stripe on deck otherwise as a pre 88

The paint code numbers I got came from Wellcraft so I'm not 100% sure about the years. If you call them and ask them for the paint codes for the "Miami Vice" scheme they will tell them to you. I know for mine I asked for 1987 and that's the ones they gave me.
The top purple/viloet stripe on my boat is the same viloet used on the hull, but I did this just so it all matches, not sure if the factory stripe was that color.
Post up some pics when she gets done.

Hereīs some old pics of it provided be www.northoffshore.com
The paint isnīt ready yet and prolly never will be with the current owner as he thinks its good enough. Itīs lacking in details and has a few errors like the dash being turquise and the violet is missing in the side stripes plus the blue on the deck.
Notice also the Arch being white but the outlining of the sidestripes silver and the bottom ainīt white so itīs a mismatch between 1987/88.
It might happened because of the painter sanding away in a hurry and run into the 1987 scheme and then forgot the details.
The hull was painted as a 1988 while arriving here. I have somewhere boat tests as it had arrived and looked almost like in the right pic, the blower hatches had the side stripe fading and there was a triangle at the tip of the stripe on the deck which this one lacks but the friends boat has.
