Blown 496 in a 1997 22' SCARAB ???

Way too much power in too little of a boat.
I've been (cruising) in a 23'7" Sunsation with 950 HP (540 w/ big Pro-Charger). It cruised at something like 2500 RPM.
During prop testing, the prop torque was lifting the boat out of the water and dancing across the water "sydwayz" 5-10 feet at a time; all at 104mph. The owner and rigger packed it in at that point and said "that's good enough"; and they never did find out its top speed.

Thanks for all the great help guy's It was a nice thought but I think your all right that. The funny thing is that I pulled the boat out of my 18' Sanger Superjet before I sold the hull. Great boat run in the low ninty's but the hull was to slow.... I'll keep looking for something. Summer it almost here and the motor an 1970 stoked 454, to 496 , brodex aluminum heads, full roller value train and an 871 BDS blower sporting 2 Demon's 750's is killing me sitting on the engine stand..
Anyone with a bigger boat with a bad motor?

Good decision you've made.I would sell that engine you have and use that towards a larger boat.If you like the 22 Scarab, which they are a nice riding boat and are easliy found, pro charge it.You'll be going fast enough
