Hey gang I just finsihed the install and waiting for Spring in Tahoe to come. Its a 2000 block with EFI and Stainless Marine. It was a real hard job $$ cause the 1988 454 is so different. All the brackets had to be bought from Merc, the old ones did not work, the only physical change was I had to put a remote oil filter on cause there was no place to hang it with the EFI box. I also wanted the mechnical fuel pump so I had to pay big for the kit to hang it; the funny thing is when I connected the 1988 harness plug into the 2000 block harness connector, it went right in!!
The real drama, I hooked up some water and
I turned the key and it fired right up!
I was so happy.
I shut it down after a few minutes and drained the block to wait for spring.
Any suggestions for the first time out???
I will take it to a small quiet lake first and see if the bravo is working right and its cooling correctly. Gosh at least, I hope it works as well as the old 454 did!
Anyway nothing ventured nothing gained

Congrats Terry!!
You'll be happy with the 502!! No disappointments!!!
First time out, of course take it easy to get use to the HP characteristics and driving, docking ect.....
I have a 96' 502mpi with stainless marine also!!
One little added feature ,,,,,,Its gotta WHIPPLE on it!!!
I'm also suppose to go to work in Victorville in the next couple of months!! It would be cool to maybe hook-up and talk shop!!
Let me know how the project comes out!!
