Scarab105,

The shop that does all my work is putting extension boxes on a 33AVS. It also has 502mpi's with Whipples on it.He does great work and is real knowledgable.

I think the 33 is running in the 90's!!!

Go Scarab!!

Give him a call

I am looking for anyone who can tell me what kind of results I
will get with 2 inch shorter drives and or standoff boxes.
Right now the boat is apart and I am getting ready for ice out
My speed now on the radar gun is 103 mph

Somebody posted this way of measuring X-dim. on this board awhile back.

This is for Bravo's. Measure at the transom from the keel of the hull to the bottom of the outer drive mounting plate. Add 9.25 inches to this measurement. This puts you at the driveshaft height/X-dim.

Default 29scarab,

Thanks for the lead Lil' Bill said they run the Imco
1 inch shortie and picked up 4-5 mph. so some
gains can be had. Now we need to find someone
that has tried to 2 inch shorter unit.

by the way it is 850 hp

What about a sacrifice in handling with the shorties. Should that be considered? or are you already passed that?

I am not sure what will happen to the handling
with the shorter units. Right now handling is still good
The boat is solid in the water. I think this is a question
that needs to be answered. I could put standoff boxes
on if it is a problem.
